This FAQ explains how consulting engagements work, how collaboration is organised, and what you can expect at each stage.
If something isn’t covered or you want to discuss your specific situation, you can contact us directly via the Contact page.
Do you offer remote consulting?
Yes, Brimbor Consulting provides remote consulting services across Europe. Most of our work (strategy, architecture design, troubleshooting, IT governance, and technical guidance) can be delivered entirely remotely. This approach reduces travel costs, speeds up delivery, and minimises disruption to your operations.
However, some situations benefit from an on-site presence. Workshops, infrastructure audits, major migrations, or user engagement sessions can be significantly more effective face-to-face. While remote-first is the standard, on-site visits can be added when they bring value, especially if you want to strengthen proximity with users, run discovery sessions, or ensure alignment across teams.
Flexibility means you can combine both approaches depending on your project’s objectives.

Who will be managing my project?
Your project is handled directly by a senior IT consultant who becomes your primary point of contact from day one. No layers, no hand‑offs, no confusion: you always know exactly who to reach and how.
Our approach mirrors the principles we recommend to our clients: simplicity, efficiency, clarity and availability. You get a dedicated consultant who understands your context, follows the work end‑to‑end, and adapts the process to your organisation’s pace and communication style.
Whether you prefer structured documentation, quick calls, email summaries or asynchronous updates, we adjust to what is easiest for you. And if anything becomes unclear or overly technical, we translate it immediately into plain, actionable guidance.
In short: you work with one expert, directly, with a predictable and transparent workflow designed around your needs. If something matters to your organisation, you have a direct line to the person who can solve it.
Do you work with internal IT teams?
Yes. Many organisations already have internal IT teams that know the environment well but lack time, structure or specialised expertise for specific projects. In these cases, we act as a reinforcement layer: clarifying priorities, removing obstacles, improving processes, and providing senior-level guidance without taking control away from your staff.
When delegated IT leadership is required, we can also take temporary ownership of operations. But only when it serves the organisation’s goals and is agreed from the start.
What does the first consultation look like?
It’s a structured, 30‑minute conversation focused on your situation: what’s working, what’s not, and what clarity you need.
The goal isn’t to sell you something: it’s to give you an informed view of your options and help determine the next steps in a simple and practical way.
Which industries do you specialise in?
Brimbor Consulting supports organisations across a wide range of industries because IT is no longer sector-specific, it’s a core strategic tool for almost every modern business. Whether you operate in retail, logistics, local administration, charity, education, manufacturing, consultancy, professional services, or the tech sector, your infrastructure must be reliable, secure, and aligned with business goals.
Our experience covers:
- SMEs looking for dependable delegated IT to stabilise or grow their environment
- Mid-market companies needing architectural guidance, cloud adoption, or structured governance
- Larger organisations seeking temporary specialised expertise for projects, upgrades, or transitions
- Tech-focused or rapidly scaling businesses needing reliable foundations and best-practice frameworks
This versatility allows us to adapt our approach to each organisation’s maturity level and operational needs.

Can you handle multi-site infrastructure?
Absolutely. Brimbor Consulting has extensive experience designing, managing, and troubleshooting infrastructures across multiple locations. Multi-site environments require consistency, security, and resilience, and we help you achieve exactly that.
Our support includes:
- Network and inter-site connectivity design and analysis
- Cloud-first and hybrid architecture
- Standardised deployments
- Centralised device and identity management
- Disaster recovery and high availability plans
- Documentation and governance for distributed teams
Whether you operate 1 office or 20, county or Europe based, you can expect solutions that scale and remain easy to manage.

Do you support legacy systems?
Yes. Many SMEs and mid‑market organisations depend on systems that are outdated, poorly documented or fragile. We help stabilise legacy environments, reduce operational risks and plan realistic migration paths without disruption.
Legacy systems are not treated as problems to eliminate, but as assets that need structured transition planning.
Do you provide audits under NDA?
Yes. A mutual NDA can be signed before any exchange of information, even before the first consultation if required.
Many engagements involve sensitive topics such as staff capabilities, supplier quality, misconfigurations, or security gaps. A formal NDA protects both sides and allows for an honest, transparent and detailed assessment from day one.
Are you certified? Are you affiliated with any vendor?
Yes, we hold several technical and architectural certifications, including legacy credentials earned across years of training and hands-on experience. Naturally, some older certifications become outdated as technologies evolve. That’s normal, and expected, in IT.
What matters most is the combination of:
- Real-world experience across many systems and environments
- The ability to quickly learn and adapt to constantly evolving new tools
- Hands-on practice rather than purely theoretical training
Staying actively up to date is most important. Through continuous learning and practical implementation, ensuring the recommendations provided remain accurate and relevant.
Also, there are no ties to any specific vendor. This independence is deliberate: it ensures that every recommendation is based on what fits your business, not on partner incentives or sales targets.

How confidential is my data during an audit?
All information is handled discreetly and strictly confidentially. Access is limited to the consultant assigned to your project.
Sensitive documentation can be exchanged under NDA, and configuration data is stored securely, used only for analysis, and removed once the engagement is complete.
How do you price your consulting services?
The pricing is tailored to your organisation’s requirements, timelines, and the complexity of your project. After an initial discussion, we provide a clear estimate with no hidden fees. Preferential pricing is available for eligible charities, non‑profits and social enterprises (UK or Europe registered). We can work under:
- Fixed-scope project pricing
- Monthly retained advisory
- Daily consulting
- Hybrid models for ongoing support
This ensures costs remain predictable and aligned with the value delivered.
How quickly can you start a project?
Timelines depend on the size and complexity of the engagement, but most projects can begin within a few weeks. Smaller assessments or advisory sessions can start even sooner depending on availability.
Every project begins with an initial conversation, followed by a pre-assessment phase to define clear objectives, deliverables, and scheduling.
Do you work internationally outside Europe?
Our main focus is UK and Europe due to time zones, regulatory frameworks, and the efficiency of remote collaboration within similar business environments. However, for organisations with global operations or exceptional requirements, we can explore international support on a case-by-case basis.
Do you provide support after implementation?
Yes, as part of a project, post-implementation can be included to support and ensure long-term stability as well as continuous improvement. This can include:
- Regular visits
- Remote monitoring
- Technical troubleshooting
- Architecture reviews
- Management support and transition
- Documentation updates
- Staff training
Whether you need occasional follow-up or a long-term delegated IT partner, the offers always adapt to your preferred level of involvement.
